How many contractor-wannabes does it take to mount a board on the wall? I bought this whiteboard (which is black in colour) kinda weekly planner to mount on my wall so I can put up reminders and to-dos. It seems that my memory is beginning to prove its limited capacity when it comes to registering everything that is happening on a day-to-day basis. It’s a rather stylish one…fell in love with it the moment I saw it at the iwannagohome designer home concept store. Wanted it. Insisted on paying for it myself even though Mum offered to cover. Good way to start a new year-spend your money on a good planner and hope for the best and pray many awesome things to fill up the year. Does not matter that the rest of your room is in a mess. As Mum very helplessly commented on the tidiness my room-”Talk about being organized.”
Unfortunately the darn thing wasn’t very DIY friendly. Mum kept muttering “the designer of this thing is very dumb”. We decided if we put both mother and daughter’s brilliant brains and hands into it, we’d be able to figure this out. And we did. Took some time to hammer the nail in though, the mounting set wasn’t exactly designed for easy hammering so it became rather clumsy to deal with.
Here’s Mum!
And we did it! And this is not how my schedule usually looks like. Haha…will be quite a miracle if it was.
Bought myself a wine book today from pageone! It’s quite informative and not in a esoteric way.
Bought a few bottles of wine today. Was introduced to this Merlot, apparently produced the old school way-”hand picked and basket pressed”. Will try it soon.

Did I forget to mention it has a “Gold Medal” too? Don’t know which gold medal but it is good enough that it has a medal considering it wasn’t shockingly expensive.
Found a Zibibbo Rosa! How cool is this! Like the regular Zibibbo but rose style. Don’t think you can find this in the supermarkets. Bottles & bottles has it.
Went to collect the Hewitson GSM (Grenache Shiraz Mouvedre). This is a winner. I love it so much but unfortunately for myself I’m giving it to someone. Well, good things are meant to be shared…sometimes.

Had this for Christmas from Aunt Mui Kee. Awesome! This is the Shiraz that made me renounce all prior perceptions of how Shiraz was sharp, spicy and uncomfortable to drink. It is still sharp, spicy and does not go down as easily as other smoother wines like Merlot does but it is incredibly flavourful, fruity, and even invigorating! (Sounds like aromatherapy.)
Mum and Dad bought this from DFS when they came back from Vietnam. I can hang it on the ceiling fan and it will double up as a disco ball.
Poured out the little bit of pear vodka and mixed with a bordeaux white, apple juice and sprite to concoct another smashing drink.
Worthy quotes from Parents:
Part 1
I drove to Iris’s place on Thursday which was in Pandan Valley Condo. I tell you the multi-storey carpark was a nightmare. You will realize how hazardous it is by observing the numerous menacing grey marks and scratches on the walls of the slopes. When I came back from the very caution-demanding driving trip, I just had to tell them…
Me: “I drove to Pandan Valley Condo today…my god the carpark was a nightmare…”
Mum: “It’s so damn disgusting right?”
Me: “(thinking she meant dirty) disgusting meaning…?”
Mum: “Meaning I will never want to park there ever again. Would rather have my wheel clamped on the residents’ lot than risk getting my car scratched…”
Dad: “So…did you scratch the car???”
Part 2
Mum: “Liza is coming back next week…”
Me: “OH MY GOD…thank god…finally!”
Mum: “You oh-my-god for what…I was doing the laundry!”
Me: “oh-my-god as in OH MY GOD, that’s great news Mum, you don’t have to work so hard anymore!”
